ABOUT PAUL TUTTLE

 

 

With over 45 years of professional experience, David Paul Tuttle is an Architect, Planner and Urban Designer, as well as an accomplished artist; painter and sketch artist. His professional experience includes specialties in public participation in the development process and he has lead thousands of community workshops and public meetings, including bilingual design charretes in Spanish and in communities in Japan, Indonesia, India and Malaysia.

 

Paul’s education and research focuses on the Social Cultural factors of the built environment. He has master’s degrees in both Urban Planning and Architecture and has studied social and cultural anthropology, and participated in an archeological expedition of prehistoric Nuraghe Castles of Sardinia, Italy.

 

Paul has extensive experience as both as a design consultant and educator, teaching sketching, planning and design at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, San Jose State University, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and UC Berkeley.

 

Paul’s experience includes extensive travel and living abroad in Asia and Europe. His art, painting and sketches are expressive of the everyday cultural experiences of people and places in every corner of the world. 

My true happiness comes from experiencing cultures, the everyday experiences of people in their place, their home, their abodes and paint what I experience.
